Electrical Thermal Imaging Electrical infrared scans are an ideal and proven inspection method of electrical components. When electrical components reach end of life or begin to fail they tend to overheat, this is where thermal imaging can play a role.
An infrared scan is non invasive and best done under full load, there is no need to schedule down time to perform the scan. Any failing components or loose connections will show up as hot spots, decisions can be made to schedule repair.
Facility and property managers typically have some sort of preventive maintenance program in effect. Incorporating thermal imaging into these programs can greatly improve maintenance efficiency.
The direct benefits of an electrical infrared scan are • proactively find issues before failure • prevent unplanned outages • help set maintenance priorities • reduced maintenance costs • may lower insurance costs (depending on insurer)
